Sweet Summertime

It's hard to believe that August is just around the corner.  As with most of this year the months of June and July have gone by quickly and eventfully.  Amber officially finished the school year on June 11th and then started Summer School on June 14th.  Summer School will be finished tomorrow (July 31st) and although it's always nice to teach something new, she teaches 1st Grade Math during Summer School, and the hours are shorter it will be nice to have just less than a month to get ready for next school year.

During Father's Day weekend we headed to Stevens Point for John to participate in a golf outing with friends.  They won the outing and we spent the rest of the weekend relaxing and spending time with John's parents.

The next weekend we traveled to Appleton for Amber's Mom's Wedding.  Diane was married to Steve on Sunday June 23rd in Menasha, WI.  The wedding was beautiful and we had a great day of celebrating with friends and family.

The day after Diane and Steve's Wedding John, Amber, London, Betty, Adam and Amber's cousin Riley headed to Green Bay to spend time with Amber's cousin Jodi, her kids Abby and Brynna, Amber's Godmother Janet and husband Dick and Amber's cousin Leanne and son Alex.  We went to Bay Beach for the day and had a blast!  London went on her very first carousel ride and train ride.

While we were in Green Bay we set up a photo session with Paul for London's 6 month pictures as well as some family pictures.  Here are just a few:

The very next weekend the church near our house put on it's yearly Freedom Festival.  They have an amazing fireworks display that they set off in the field across the street from our new home.  Michelle came down to Janesville for the night and we had amazing front row seats and as always the fireworks were great.  London loved the fireworks!  She was mesmerized by them.

On July 4th we celebrated our 4 year wedding anniversary.  We spent the day with friends Melissa and Andy and their daughter Abbie and headed to Milton to see the 4th of July parade.  After an afternoon rest we headed out with friends Ladd and Betsy for dinner at El Jardin (a tradition of ours).  All in all it was a very nice anniversary.

The next weekend Amber and London headed to Appleton.  London stayed with Great-Grandma Betty and Grandma Diane while Amber headed to Green Bay to spend some time with her St. Norbert College music girl friends.  It was Amber's first night away from London and everything went very well and as always "us girls" had a wonderful time!

This past weekend Amber traveled with London and Michelle to Burr Ridge, IL for John's cousin Jen's bridal shower.  It was a nice "girl getaway" and London behaved very well.  She got to meet a lot of people for the first time and it was nice to catch up with the cousins.

When Amber and London got back from Burr Ridge John, Amber and London all headed to the Rock County 4H Fair.  We had fun listening to the Beloit-Janesville Symphony Orchestra, seeing the animals and having some yummy fair food.

During these past two months we have seen London grow up so much.  She is getting very close to crawling and as soon as that happens everyone better watch out!  Here are London's 6 and 7 month pictures:

Until next time.  Go Pack Go!

Spring Has Finally Arrived!

The months of April and May have went by in a blur.  John finally started back to work at Glen Erin Golf Course in the middle of April (as soon as the weather and course were in good condition) and we have all been adjusting to the new routine of opposite work schedules.  London gets to have time with John in the morning and spends the evenings with Amber.

London's sitter Jen and her two daughters Ale and Brooklyn come everyday during the hours when John and Amber are both working and London just loves Jen and playing with Ale and Brooklyn.  It has worked out so wonderfully!

During the first week in April Amber was on her spring break and was able to take London up to Appleton to spend some time with her family and help plan her mother Diane's wedding which is coming up very quickly!

The weekend of April 19th through 21st was Trivia in Stevens Point where John's team Festivus for the Rest of Us took 2nd place overall!  Amber, London, Auntie Michelle and Michelle's friend Melissa traveled to Stevens Point to cheer on FFTROU and to visit Grandma Mary and Grandpa Mike.  London also got to meet our friends Greg, Ellen and Charlie Kaye while we were there.

During the first weekend in May Amber and London traveled to Crivitz for Great-Grandma Georgene's surprise 75th birthday party.  It was a lot of fun to see all the cousins, aunts and uncles.  The rest of the weekend was spent in Appleton hanging out with Uncle Adam, Becky, Grandma Diane, Grandpa Steve and Great-Grandma Betty.

After Amber and London got home to Janesville we all went to the park for London's first time on the swing and her first ride down the slide.

The next weekend was Amber's first Mother's Day.  London and John did a very good job picking out a blue topaz and diamond necklace (blue topaz is London's birthstone).  We all spent the day together going to church, having breakfast together and going for a family walk.

During the next two weekends John and Amber attended two weddings.  On May 18th was the wedding of Ladd and Betsy and on May 26th was the wedding of Amanda and Jeremy.  Both weddings were wonderful and London got to spend some time with Auntie Michelle on May 18th and with Grandma Diane and Great-Grandma Betty on May 26th.  We are so lucky to have such great friends with whom we get to share their days with and we are also so blessed to have amazing family take care of London so that we can attend these events!  Thanks!

And now we're into the month of June already!  We started to month out with a trip to the Todd School Carnival on Saturday and then heading to Milwaukee for a balloon release for Grandpa Vern at the cemetery and lunch with the family at 8-Twelve MVP (which was delicious!)

London loves to balloons.

Amber, London and Grandma Diane by Grandpa Vern and Uncle Kyle's headstones.  We made sure to tell London that even though these great guys are no longer with us on earth they are with us in our hearts and that they watch over us everyday.

It is hard to believe that the end of this school year is nearly here (only one more day with the kiddos!) and that we have a six month old!  Watch out world!

Until next time Go Pack Go!
