The End of a Very Long Winter

After all of the holiday festivities settled down we had a very cold rest of the month of January.  Amber and John headed to Mauston and Wisconsin Dells to celebrate Cristina, Mark and Canaan's birthdays on Saturday January 11th while London got to have a girls day and night with Auntie Michelle.

The next weekend Amber and London headed to Appleton for a three day weekend to see Grandma Diane, Grandpa Steve and Great-Grandma Betty.  We went out for dinner, brunch and did a little shopping.

The next week Amber had two days off for extreme cold and since Grandma Mary and Auntie Michelle had those days off as well they, along with Grandpa Mike, came down to Janesville for a visit.  We stayed in our snuggly clothes and played and talked.

The first weekend in February we went to our friend Ladd and Betsy's house for their annual SuperBowl Party.  We were rooting for the Seattle Seahawks in support of former Wisconsin Badgers quarterback Russell Wilson and were very excited with their domination of the game :)

Go Seahawks!

The next weekend Grandma Diane came down to Janesville and Amber and John headed to a wine and beer tasting benefit with friends while Grandma Diane and London stayed home for some bonding time.  The next day we went out for breakfast and did some shopping and we let balloons go in honor of Uncle Kyle.

On Valentine's Day weekend we had a nice family dinner on Friday and then on Saturday Auntie Michelle came down to Janesville watch London while Amber and John had a nice adult-only dinner at a new Italian restaurant in town called Aglio.  It was delicious!  We also went to a birthday party for our friend Claire on Sunday.

The rest of February was pretty uneventful.  We had to stay inside a lot because it was very cold and we were very excited to see the month of March because on March 1st we meet our friends the Becker's and the Martin's at the Polynesian Resort in Wisconsin Dells for the day/night to swim, play and chat.  We were so busy that we didn't have our phones to take many pictures. :(  We will have to make this a yearly tradition and be more diligent about taking pictures of us and the kiddos!

On Thursday March 6th Amber had a concert for her 1st Graders as well as a concert for her 3rd Graders.  Great-Grandma Betty and Grandma Diane came down to Beloit to see the concerts and stayed in Janesville until Saturday to spend time with us.  On Saturday we headed to Milwaukee and meet up with Uncle Adam to visit the Mitchell Park Domes and have lunch at TGI Friday's Front Row at Miller Park.  Afterwards we went over to Adam and Becky's house to visit before heading home.

The next weekend was right before St. Patrick's Day so Glen Erin Golf Course (the course that John works at) opened up for the traditional feast of corned beef and cabbage.  John had to work so Amber, London and Auntie Michelle stopped in for dinner and a visit.

The next weekend we traveled to Madison and meet up with Grandma Mary, Grandpa Mike and Auntie Michelle.  We had lunch at AJ Bombers and then went to West Towne Mall to Build-A-Bear Workshop.

Mid-week Grandma Mary stopped in Janesville on her way back from a visit in Chicago to hang out with us for awhile and have dinner.

Sunday March 30th was John's last day off before heading back to work so since it was "nice" outside (sunny and 50 degrees)  we decided to take a trip to the Madison Zoo and meet Auntie Michelle there too.  Even though the weather wasn't as nice as expected it was nice to see all the animals.  London especially liked the tiger and the birds in the aviary.  After seeing the animals we went to Mickies Dairy Bar for lunch.  That was the first time any of us had ever been there and it did not disappoint!

Happy Spring everyone!  We hope that the weather warms up soon so that we can start going on more walks, more trips to the park and start riding our bikes.  As always Go Pack Go!
